Matthew T. Heffner, Esq.
Associate Attorney
Matthew T. Heffner, Esq. first joined Heffner & Associates after graduating from the College of the Holy Cross in 2016. Working as a paralegal, Matthew had only planned to stay with the firm for one year while preparing to apply to business school. It was during this period, however, he began to reevaluate. After seeing one grandmother enter nursing home care, while the other began showing signs of Alzheimer’s disease, Matthew began to understand how important the family firm’s work was. He invested his time working with loved ones in both his and others’ families to help solve problems. Once his ‘gap’ year was over, Matthew decided to apply to law school instead.
Matthew graduated from Roger Williams University School of Law, and was admitted to the Rhode Island Bar in 2023. Alongside his father, Matthew now works to alleviate clients’ financial and healthcare planning concerns. He mindfully tailors each client’s estate planning documents around each one’s particular situation, fully knowing that what he prepares must both fit present circumstances and anticipate future developments.
Matthew also represents clients as executors or administrators in probate court. No matter the task, Matthew aims to serve clients with the same dedication as if they were his own family members.
Despite being a multigenerational Rhode Islander, Matthew will readily travel across one or more bridges to meet clients at our Warwick office at 615 Jefferson Blvd., as well as to appear in any municipality’s court across the state on an estate’s behalf.
